Mehdi Anvari

Mehdi was born in Tehran, Iran in May of 1975. In 1999 he graduated from Azad University of Tehran and received a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Process Design major. During university Mehdi taught as a part time high-school teacher. After graduation, he worked at the Cultural Development Center of Tehran City Hall.

He came to the United States in December 2000 to start a new journey. Soon after arriving to the US he started working for United Parcel Service as a District Environmental Coordinator and a Plant Engineer. In September 2004, he attended the University of Arizona for his Masters Degree. In 2007, he obtained his MBA degree in Management.

Since October of 2008, he has been working for Cardinal Health, a global medical supply and equipment organization, as Maintenance Operations and Project Manager.

Currently, he is a member of the Board of Directors of ?Iran House of Greater Chicago? (Khaneh Iran) and the editor of Farsi section of quarterly newspaper of Khaneh.

Mehdi also teaches Farsi as a Second language at the Chicago Persian School. He is also a member of Glenview Tennis Club and enjoys the history of Iran and Persian literature.



Safieh Esfahani

Safieh Esfahani was born and raised in Esfahan, Iran. She moved to the United States in 2001. She lived in Chicago for two years before she decided to explore education and career opportunities on the west coast. She started her banking career with Washington Mutual bank in January of 2005. She was involved in the banking and mortgage industry in San Francisco, CA for three years.

She returned to Chicago in December of 2007 and currently works for JP Morgan Chase Bank. Safieh is attending DePaul University of Chicago majoring in Integrated Marketing and Management Information Systems.

Safieh is passionate about traveling and learning about different cultures. She enjoys a variety of hobbies such as painting, photography, and dancing. She is currently seeking admission to a business doctorate program and hopes to teach at a university in the future.
