The Ancient Persians Wore White...

The ancient Persians wore White as a symbol of purity and innocence, two overriding maxims of Zoroastrian culture. By wearing the sudre (a white particle of clothing for both genders) for the first time during the initiation ceremony, each boy or girl formally accepts moral responsibility and the initiate is formally asked to commit him or herself to the fight against the forces of evil.

How fitting is it then that the Los Angeles chapter of Shabeh Jomeh is continuing this ancient Iranian tradition with its second annual WHITE PARTY. In a way, the ancient Iranians gave meaning to the idea of a "white party", so it only makes sense to celebrate the summer season and to continue our timeless tradition!

Shabeh Jomeh is a monthly gathering of Iranian Professionals living in the metropolitan areas of major cities. The event is designed to improve upon existing professional and social relations and is intended to be the platform for exchanging ideas and improving Iranian's professional standing in our communities.

As of right now, we have over 1200 members in the Los Angeles chapter and we are still growing. We love seeing you at our events and look forward to bringing you all more events and exciting opportunities for us to get together and network.

We look forward to seeing you all at our special “WHITE PARTY” event on Thursday, July 17, 2014.
